Lady Gaga on texts criticising Katy Perry: ‘They are old, we’ve matured’

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry have not let embarrassing text messages cause a rift between them.

On Friday night, Gaga responded to the release of historic texts between herself and Kesha, in which she called Perry “mean”.

Gaga tweeted: “.@katyperry & I have grown up in the industry together. We’ve gone through both celebrations & differences w/ each other. These are old texts. We’ve matured, gotten over the past, love each other & share deep respect. Katy is my friend and is truly a kind soul. End of story. <3”

A few minutes later, Perry replied: “Love you too friend <3 Onward and upward”.

Kesha believed that Dr Luke had also sexually assaulted Katy Perry and that Perry was choosing not to speak about it.

“I was crying a lot today and needed my mom. I’m really upset with Katy Perry,” a text to Gaga obtained by Us Weekly read. “She could bring the whole thing to a head but she won’t.”

“She is probably really afraid to lose everything,” Gaga responded. “U are really strong standing up to him, she’s not as strong as u yet.”

“Your [sic] right. I need to find sympathy and empathy for her. she’s so mean. it’s hard,” Kesha replied. Gaga: “Do u want me to see if I can talk to her. I know she’s mean. … She makes me angry about sh*t [but] I just try to have empathy for her.”
